The Staten Island Philharmonic’s 10th Anniversary Season

Staten Island Philharmonic begins its 2015-2016 10th anniversary celebration on Sunday, August 30, 2 pm, at the Noble Maritime Collection in Snug Harbor, with a repeat of our very first concert from August, 2005. Jose Alejandro Guzman conducts the Mozart Serenade No. 10 in B-Flat Major, “Gran Partita,” and the Dvorak Serenade, Op. 44, in D minor. In honor of SI Phil’s anniversary, the suggested donation is $10. After the concert, enjoy a meet and greet with SI Phil’s maestro and musicians. Sounds of Freedom 2015!!

Join Staten Island Philharmonic for one or more of these fun, family-friendly, FREE concerts on July 4th weekend. Our program features patriotic favorites, light classics including “Buglers’ Holiday,” by Leroy Anderson, hits from Broadway shows by Rodgers & Hammerstein, Andrew Lloyd Webber, and Irving Berlin, and more! Featuring the Noble Maritime Collection’s Helluva Choir, Brooklyn Public Library’s Dyker Singers, and our special guest conductor, Atlanta’s own Bill Steele. Music from the Movies!

Don’t forget our Music from the Movies mini-concert this Sunday, May 31st, 6 pm, at the South Beach Boardwalk (300 Father Capodanno Blvd.) And never fear–we have a rain location which will be the Culture Lounge at the SI Ferry Terminal. It’s fun and FREE! Come on down!! 🙂

Festipalooza! — December 6th, 2014

Join the Staten Island Philharmonic Winds plus Brooklyn’s Dyker Singers and the Noble Maritime Collection’s Helluva Choir for FESTIPALOOZA, a concert celebrating Christmas, Chanukah, Kwanzaa, and the Winter Solstice on Saturday, December 6, 2014 in the Snug Harbor Music Hall. (We would include Festivus, too, but couldn’t find any music for it…) Special guest is Staten Island’s favorite tenor, John Griffin. And get ready to sing along with holiday favorites, including “Let It Go,” from Frozen.

Out of This World

Join the Staten Island Philharmonic on a voyage to boldly go where no orchestra has gone before!

On Sunday, June 8, 2014, at 5 pm, the Staten Island Philharmonic will go “Out of This World!” The Staten Island Philharmonic Youth Orchestra will join us in an intergalactic program that includes the world premiere of “The Conqueror” by Aaron Minsky, “Blast Off” for Orchestra and Astronaut by Daniel Dorff, and a symphonic suite from Star Wars, by John Williams.
