DAY OF THE DEAD CONCERT

Bring your bones on down to the Staten Island Philharmonic’s Day of the Dead concert! Saturday, October 30, 4 pm, Zion Lutheran Church, 505 Watchogue Rd. Costumes encouraged. Lots of great music and treats. And it’s FREE!

2021 COVID Memorial Concert

Please join us for this wonderful, FREE concert–SI Philharmonic’s gift to our Staten Island community to offer healing and hope. Our program includes two world premieres–“Threnody,” by Howard Fox, based on a poem by Jonathan Foc, and “Hope is the Thing With Feathers,” by Steve Liotta, based on a poem by Emily Dickinson. Four wonderful singers will join us for this event–Jeannine Otis, Emily Okaah, John Griffin, and Larry Marshall, performing inspirational songs, like “You Raise Me Up,” and “You’ll Never Walk Alone.” The program also includes the Faure “Pavene,” Barber’s “Adagio for Strings,” and excerpts from Elgar’s “Enigma Variations.” The performance will be conducted by Scott Jackson Wiley. 

Beautiful music in a beautiful setting–it doesn’t get better than this! Reserve your FREE tickets today. Seating is limited for effective social distancing, so don’t delay! All performers and audience members must be vaccinated. Masks are optional. Thank you for your support!

British Invasion 2021!

Join us Saturday 9/4, 4 pm, at Zion Lutheran Church and Sunday 9/5, 4 pm, at the Conference House Park, for our 2021 British Invasion Concerts. Great music from folk tunes to the Beatles! It’s FREE, and great for kids–they don’t have to sit still! Bring a lawn chair, refreshments, and enjoy.

Sunday, 5 pm [5 pm is correct!] on the South Meadow Stage at Snug Harbor.

RUSSIAN HERITAGE CELEBRATION

Join the Staten Island Philharmonic Winds this weekend for two great concerts honoring the musical heritage of Staten Islanders from Russia. The program is Shostakovich “Festive Overture,” Borodin “Polovetsian Dances,” the finale from Tchaikovsky Symphony No. 4, and Mussorgsky “Pictures at an Exhibition.” Bring a lawn chair, bring refreshments, and enjoy.
